Using Social Networking to Connect Manganos

Posted by manganofamily on September 18, 2009 at 10:33 AM

Our move is completed, we've unpacked most of the boxes, and we're finally feeling settled, so...it's time to get back to tracking down our Mangano family members!

We've recently set up a Twitter account. Want to quickly send us information or have a chat with 140 characters or less? Follow us on Twitter and send us a direct message. By the way, we love #FollowFridays and RTs that mention us -- feel free to include us and help us continue to grow with this new (well okay, relatively new) technology.

Facebook is the next frontier (are we doing this in reverse?). We'll let you know when that account is up and running.

We've also started what we like to refer to as The Mangano Project. If you'd like your family's pedigree chart or descendant list to be posted here, send us a PDF or JPG file of the information. Not only can others learn from the information you already have, but someone may be able to help you fill in some gaps in your own records.

On a completely different note, have any of you used DNA testing to help trace your ancestry? If so, we'd like to hear from you and get your feedback on how helpful this testing was for you. We'll post our findings at a later date in hopes that it will be beneficial to those of you considering participating in this kind of testing in the future.

As always, we love hearing from you and getting your comments and feedbacks about our growing site. And a special thanks to Anthony Mangano for his kind words about our new site.

Cheers!

Michael Mangano

I think you're talking about my grandparents. They had 6 children who lived: Anthony, uncle Tony to me who lived in California; Santa, aunt Sarah; Placido, uncle Pat; Lucia, aunt Lucy; and the twins, Alfredo, uncle Al and John, my beloved father or Pop as we called him. Sharon, you must be from my uncle Tony's family or from my aunt Lucy's family. I see this posting is rather old, but if you're still out there please contact me.
